Latest Update 2/4/2026
New Design Overview

The Design Goal
Add a variety of optional, popular play-for-fun side bets -- while keeping gameplay flexible and fully customizable by the host.

Why You’re Seeing This Page
You’re seeing this private page because you’re an invited guest who already owns a Craps Mat and has either completed a recent survey or shared feedback on possible future updates.

Most feedback focused on two popular multi-roll side-bet styles—bets players track over time rather than resolve on a single roll.

Many of you mentioned that you already experiment with these at home using simple reference cards or tracking aids placed near the game.

While I can’t print those specific side bets or pay tables directly on the mat, I do have a flexible, play-for-fun solution that allows you to practice and visualize these styles without locking the layout into any one bet.

Side Bet Disclaimer
Many casino side bets are licensed, proprietary, or protected intellectual property when used in regulated casino environments.

The Craps Mat Home Party Game is designed exclusively for play-for-fun home use and does not define, implement, or provide official side bet images, rules, odds, pay tables, or instructions for any proprietary side bet.

Any side-bet styles referenced on this page, are examples only to illustrate flexibility and familiarity. All rules, payouts, and game styles used during play are independently determined by the host and players.

I’m not a professional graphic artist. All the images are rough design concepts meant to give my professional graphic artist a solid starting point and creative direction.

The Roll Tracker...
To track rolls during gameplay, the numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 can be marked using clear acrylic disks (lamers).
Picture

Ten lamers will be included with the new mats. After each roll, simply place or move a lamer onto the corresponding number to record that result. Over time, this creates a clear visual history of rolled numbers, allowing players to observe streaks or patterns as the game progresses.
This roll-tracking method is optional, reusable, and controlled by the host, keeping gameplay flexible and play-for-fun.
The Roll Tracker & Map Betting Spaces
The new Roll Tracker is designed as a flexible, play-for-fun tracking zone that supports a variety of well-known side-bet styles commonly seen in the game of craps. The area at the top of the mat, along with the pyramid chip spaces below it, is intended for play-for-fun betting and tracking.
Picture
It is deliberately left open-ended so players can adapt it to different side-bet styles without being locked into one specific game, rule set, or payout structure.

Tracker & Player Positioning
The pyramid chip map is divided into three sections. The center section establishes the reference for how the two outer sections are used. The Craps Mat works best when play follows a clockwise rotation, with the dealer always starting at Player 1 and moving clockwise around the layout to Player 8.

From the dealer’s position, this progression is always left to right.

The images below are looking at players view - (top of the mat.)
Picture
Each of the three sections includes a divider line that separates Players 1–4 from Players 5–8, as illustrated, making it easier for the dealer to track bets and progress during play.
Picture
This example represents a multi-roll, progress-tracking style side bet, rather than a single-roll outcome bet. Player 1 is risking $5 each option, player 6 is risking $25 each option.
Picture
This example, player 3 risking $5 and player 7 risking $25 on a one roll side bet option. If the host wants two different one roll only side bets in action, then you would use two seperate zones.

Where The Rules And Odds Come From
Because this is a play-for-fun home game, the exact rules and payouts are always determined by the host and players.

For those who want to explore different side-bet ideas from an educational standpoint, resources like WizardOfOdds.com and short YouTube videos can help show how various bets play out.
Wizard of Odds website - Craps side bets explainer.

That resource provides easy-to-understand breakdowns of many different craps side bets and variations, helping you decide what works best for your group. Any option on that page can be used during gameplay, as determined by the host.

A common approach is:
  • The host (or dealer) selects the side-bet concept
  • The dealer places play-for-fun bets in the pyramid spaces
  • The Roll Tracker area is used to mark rolls, progress, or completed conditions
  • Payouts and odds are written by the host on index cards and kept near the table* (example shown below)
This keeps the mat clean and allows the game to evolve from one gathering to the next.

* Host Side-Bet Game Index cards
The Craps Mat Home Play-For-Fun Party Game will come with 6" X 4" index card stock bundle. Below is an example reference for a generic unlicensed bet. Casino odds. The back side of the card can have True Odds reference if desired..

Below is what your cards will look like front and back side. I have been advised not to pre-print these cards. Only the game host can do this.

What This Page Is — And Isn’t
This page is:
  • An explanation of design intent
  • A reference for those who asked for added side-bet flexibility
  • A preview of how the Roll Tracker concept is meant to be used
This page is not:
  • A rulebook
  • A set of instructions
  • A definition of official bets or payouts
  • A public sales page
What’s Coming Next
A professional graphic artist will fine tune the images. Once I have an image I like, this page will flip to a public page announcing the update.
For now, this page exists to provide context and gather informed feedback.
