I’m Scott Cameron, creator of the Craps Mat.

​For nearly 30 years I’ve worked inside Las Vegas casinos as a dealer and table games supervisor. For the last 15 years I’ve cross-trained blackjack dealers to deal craps across multiple properties.

Earlier in my career I dealt craps on the Strip and spent seven years as the dice instructor at the Las Vegas School of Dealing, teaching one of the most exciting—and challenging—games on the floor.

By 2004, my craps classes had become so popular that I launched DiceDealer.com

I designed the original Dice Dealer Practice Mat to support the site—giving students access to video-based training that builds real confidence through practice.

Twenty years later, the site is still the official home of the mat, and many say its craps dealing section is one of the best free resources online.

Then the pandemic hit.

Casinos, everything, shut down and everyone was stuck at home, many looking for ways to socialize and have fun.

So I decided to bring the game to your home.
I knew the casino odds structure wouldn’t work well for home party games, and the market for gamblers looking for a mat to practice casino craps was already saturated. Instead, I focused on people simply looking for a new home party game idea.

I created the Craps Mat and CrapsMat.com using the simple “KISS” principle. Instead of complicated casino odds, I built it around True Odds Craps—paying the natural mathematical odds of the dice.

​The result is a game that’s much easier to learn, easier to deal, and perfect as a Play-For-Fun Party Game.

​The site includes simple rules, hosting tips, beginner help, and step-by-step videos so anyone can jump in quickly and start having fun.

Since launching in early 2020, the Craps Mat has become a top-rated seller on Amazon and Etsy, earned a ton of 5-star reviews, and is now used by party hosts and casual players nationwide.
