Below are the most popular questions about the mat, the foam wall. dice preference, chips and chip trays. Other questions that relate to hosting a dice game at home with friends and family are addressed HERE.
Why no stick?
1. Don’t need it as the entire playing area is within easy reach
2. A stick knocks over chips on a busy game. No room to maneuver.
3. They cost around $30-$40 each and you'll have to cut it down
4. The human female species has been known to use the stick as a weapon when dealing, another reason not to have one.

How tall is the wall?
The wall is 4 inches tall, 1 inch wide and is in four separate sections. Two end walls and two side walls. There is a total of just over 10 feet of wall surrounding 3/4 of the mat. The dealer side has no wall. This is designed as a dining room table set-up whereas five or less players can sit down and play. The short wall allows everyone to see the layout while sitting. More than five players would have to stand around the table. Dealer can't sit but the players can.
Why is the wall only 1inch thick?
Most dining room tables are 60" X 36". The mat is 28" wide and with a 1" foam wall on each side you're looking at 30". We looked at a 2"-3" wall but there would be no room for chip trays and beverages. The foam pedestal idea came from a customer and I took his suggestion and made it happen.

I purchased the mat last year before the foam pedestals were introduced, how do I get some?
For all verified customers who want the foam blocks I will send you eight for free...but you will have to pay shipping costs. Simply contact me DICETEACH@GMAIL.COM
All you have to do is absorb shipping cost which will be minimal. I have made contact with those who purchased via the website but I am not allowed to offer the block pedestals to Amazon customers. Amazon is strict in allowing communication between "their" customers and myself who they consider a seller.
Why foam wall? Why not wood?
Wood solid walls drives up the price and it's heavy and less portable. Someone who is considering a wood wall will probably prefer a custom design and it would be less expensive having it built locally or building it yourself not to mention shipping weight and insurance costs. A dedicated table of sorts. Add in wood chip rails and rubber diamond end wall and you will spend a fortune.

The primary reason for the foam wall is that....
- it helps keep the dice on the mat
- offers protection for the mat from spilled beverages and unwanted stains
- lightweight portability
- fast and easy set-up and breakdown
Why do you recommend rolling the mat face up when in storage?
The manufacture recommends rolling the mat face side up as it was delivered to you, and keep the urethane bottom of the mat inside the roll thus not putting any stress on it. The printed side can absorb the stress because of the microfibers embedded into the urethane.

Why a urethane bottom and not thin rubber?
The original mat back in the day had a thin black rubber base. I wanted a mat that didn't slip and slide. Then I discovered embedding a silkscreen rather than printing one on fabric then bonding to the rubber. Notice the edge of the mat. You can see the thickness of the mat but more importantly notice the green base color embedded into the white urethane. No cracking or marbling will occur using this technique and besides, the dice and chips thrown around are not as loud when they land on the smooth cushioned surface.

Why no hop bets or other popular side bets printed on the mat?
There is no room. Doesn't mean you cant bet it. Most hop bets are not "printed" on casino layouts. The mat 'as is' represents the base game of craps. Every craps table have these base bet offerings. Casinos pay vendors for popular side bets such as the FIRE BET or BONUS BET (All-Small-Tall) therefore I would not be allowed legally to print such offerings. You can however. This guy sent me a pic of what he did. He purchased some felt and had a silkscreen business print the images and simply lays the side bet on the mat.

Just wondering, how come there are no odds printed on the horn bets?
A couple of reasons, most casinos pay the two and twelve 31 "for" 1 or 30 "to" 1 but some casinos pay 30 for 1 and a couple pay 32 for 1. The vast majority pay the three and eleven 16 for 1 (15 to 1) but there are a few that pay 15 for 1. Virtually all casinos pay the hardways 10 for 1 or 9 to 1 (same thing) and 8 for 1 or 7 to 1 (same thing) thus I had those odds printed on the mat. The second reason is because in a HOME GAME I recommend paying TRUE ODDS thus the horn numbers 2 & 12 should pay 35 to 1 and the 3 & 11 should pay 17 to 1. The hardways in a TRUE ODDS home game pay 10 to 1 and 8 to 1 but leaving it "as is" should be fine paying each 10 to 1 and 8 to 1 in a home game.

How come chips are not included?
Most people want to choose their own, others already have some.
How many chips will I need?
If you do not own chips yet, see accessories page for best value ideas
How come you are not a PRIME seller on Amazon?
It's complicated. The vast majority of prime sellers purchase wholesale bulk and re-sell on the Amazon platform. The Craps Mat is a unique product and is considered a custom product. Only I can sell them. Amazon does offer a "Prime seller fulfilled program", meaning that sellers like myself can send boxed product to an Amazon fulfillment center and Amazon will replace the box with their own and ship them under the Prime label. Unfortunately they do not fulfill my category in Vegas. (Mats)
Amazon would have to send my boxes to Minnesota and that alone would drive up the cost and Amazon doesn't want anything to do with re-packaging the product because it is very labor intrusive with the foam walls, blocks and chip trays. I could pack the mat in their boxes but mine are better. I use a quality ULINE box to ship the Craps Mat.
In your video you claim not to like casino precision dice used on the mat, but you sent me some anyway?
Casino grade 19mm razor edge precision dice are made for 12-16 foot long tables and they are used for security reasons and ability to be seen by surveillance cameras. They don't tumble enough or bounce good on the Craps Mat because of their size and weight and the reduced size of the mat. I recommend using large 19mm round corner red transparent dice as they weigh less, roll better and bounce off the wall better. Each mat sold included those dice that are manufactured in China but because geopolitics of late, you and I can no longer purchase these dice but I was fortunate to acquire 19mm casino grade that I include in all orders right now until the round corner 19mm is available again. My personal preference is using 16mm as those bounce all over the unit.

Why not include the duffle bag you advertise?
I did but unfortunately I can no longer purchase wholesale due to the geo-political supply-chain issues as the duffle bag is made in China. You and I can only purchase retail right now and retailers are limiting sales. The offer of the mat on Amazon and here on the website reflect a reduction in price because of this issue. Order one using the link image below. It really comes in handy.
